Body Realignment is a powerful yet subtle method of releasing physical damage by releasing myo-fascial restriction. This is done by replicating the movement/position in which the body was originally injured; this is known as Positional Release. This subtle replay, combined with gentle pressure on key points, enables the body to release the muscle-holding patterns which are distorting natural alignment. This release restores the circulation of energy and blood to the area and thus stimulates self-healing. In this way, not only can muscle knotting be eliminated but the whole body realigned and compensation patterns corrected.
Fascial unwinding, body scanning, energy healing techniques and emphasis on developing the intuition are important elements of Body Realignment.
Body Realignment has developed from Bio-mobility, which in its turn originated in Ortho-Bionomy. Ortho-Bionomy was developed many years ago by osteopath Arthur Pauls in recognition of the body's need to release patterns of holding trauma within the muscles and fascia.
The technique is able to help conditions such as:
- Neck whiplash
- Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI)
- Chronic pain of unknown origin (e.g. back, neck, joints)
- Chronic headaches of unknown origin
- Emotional imbalances
- Slow healing after injuries or operations
- Scar release and post-operative problems/ adhesions
- Deeply-held trauma (physical/emotional)
- Sports injuries (including old, consolidated injuries)

The mind/body link ensures that deep physical releases inevitably facilitate and stimulate emotional release. This treatment, at its most subtle and powerful, promotes a profound physical, emotional and spiritual ‘letting go’.
As the course progresses, the student is taken to a higher level of work, expanding awareness and trust in intuition, and learning a lighter touch through the subtlety of the ‘less is more’ concept. This work facilitates trauma release at its deepest level.
The Diploma course is self-developmental as well as practical, emphasising the importance of clearing the therapist’s own emotional/physical/energy blocks. It is only by at least starting this process that the therapist is able to start working at the necessary level with clients. The course is spread over the year deliberately for this reason; this work cannot be taught quickly.
