An intensive course designed to increase the practitioner’s ability to tune in to the client, perceive areas of restriction, elicit the causes through assessment of the client’s daily habits, and respond to the deeper subtleties of the client’s emotional and physical state using fascial unwinding as an effective tool. Through a careful combination of theory and practical, the therapist is taken to an increased level of awareness and ability which provides a knowledge-base suitable for addition to most therapeutic work.
The primary aim of this course is to develop the therapist’s understanding of the fascia and their ability to feel and release fascial restriction. The energy work is included because Fascial Unwinding releases stagnant energy and the ability to be aware of, and clear the energy blockages enhances both assessment and treatment.
Tutor Jan Trewartha has been in healthcare since 1979. Originally trained as a State Registered Nurse, she has worked in complementary therapy since 1992, developing her present work specializing in physical and emotional trauma release through Body Realignment and Energy Field Therapy, and scar/adhesion healing.
Jan has been teaching massage, bodywork and self-development since 1993. She has a clinic in Windsor and runs Body in Harmony Training, teaching the Diploma in Body Realignment, Fascial Unwinding & Energy Awareness (CPD course) and Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork on scar and adhesion healing.
Jan is also the Fascia & Energy Consultant for the APNT (Association of Physical and Natural Therapists) and sits on the Executive Committee. The School is fully accredited by the APNT which is affiliated to the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA). Jan is the organising force behind , and Director of the British Fascia Symposium, first held May 2014 and now biannually.
This is an APNT-accredited CPD course taught as a stand-alone training module and open to all therapists. It is also the required Foundation Course for the Body Realignment diploma course which constitutes a further 14 days of training and is open only to therapists with A&P and Massage qualifications (minimum Level 3).
