Meet the team

Jan Trewartha

Principal

Jan works with clients with physical pain, emotional trauma, scarring and adhesions.  She first trained as a State Registered Nurse in the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC) in 1979, but has worked in complementary therapy since 1992, specialising in physical and emotional trauma.  Since 1993 Jan has taught workshops across a diverse range of topics, including: Therapeutic Massage, Self-care for the Carer, Body Realignment, Fascial Unwinding and Energy Awareness, and Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork therapy.  Jan is also the founder of the British Fascia Symposium, which will run again 16/17 May, 2020.

Jan is co-editor and co-author of Scars, Adhesions and the Biotensegral Body, a textbook for hands-on practitioners, which will be published by Handspring Publishing in April 2020.

Julie Ingram

Adminstrator

Julie worked as a PA for over 40 years, starting her career at the BBC as a Junior Secretary and then a variety of PA roles at corporate board level, culminating in a secondment to The Royal Household.

Sophie Comas

Marketing Director

Sophie is a Chartered Marketer and a current member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, with over 20 years of marketing experience in both the corporate world and helping a wide range of inspirational small businesses.  She is delighted to be supporting Body in Harmony in their business journey.

Carole Caplin

Teaching Assistant

Carole has worked in the health, wellbeing and rehabilitation industry for over 35 yrs. Over the years her work has focused on corrective exercise and manual therapy with a particular emphasis on pain and injury.  Carole trained with Jan Trewartha to become a ScarWork practitioner and now works as a teaching assistant on the ScarWork courses.
