Pelvic Abdominal Scarring & Full Body Integration – three Day CPD Course
Light-touch, fascia-based, CPD-accredited training by Body in Harmony.
Go deeper with your ScarWork and learn how to reintegrate the body once the scars have been satisfactorily worked on.
They should have learned whole body fascial connection in their initial training however Sharon and Emma don’t teach this. My students will have learned it.
This three -day in-person course focuses on understanding and treating the pelvic and abdominal region — one of the most emotionally and structurally significant areas of the body. You’ll explore how surgical and injury-based scars can influence breathing, posture, and integration across the fascial network.
Led by Jan Trewartha, a pioneer in fascia and trauma-informed therapy, this course builds on ScarWork principles with new techniques, theory, and practice.

What Is This Course About?
ScarWork can be transformative, especially when applied to the pelvic region. Scars from C-sections, laparoscopies, hernia repairs, mesh insertions, and more can cause major sensations of poor physical connection and integrative movement, postural shifts, emotional holding, and compensation patterns throughout the body.
This course teaches how to:
- Support the physical and emotional integration after pelvic and abdominal scarring
- Work with sensitivity around areas that may hold deep trauma
- Re-establish fascial balance through intelligent touch, improving mobility, functionality and posture.
- Address full-body compensation patterns stemming from pelvic scars
All Jan’s courses are founded on biotensegrity, so you will be introduced to tension/compression and full body continuity and how scarring can affect these. You will also learn how to safely facilitate deep release and reintegration.
Entry Requirements
This advanced course is to qualified Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork therapists only. Take your scar work to the next level and develop your confidence working with challenging scars.
To attend, you must:
- Have a working understanding of the first nine ScarWork techniques
- Be confident and experienced in applying ScarWork in clinical settings
If you have been qualified for less than five years, you should have at least one years of regular clinical ScarWork experience, including:
- Regular, hands-on work with scar tissue
- Confidence using ScarWork techniques with awareness
- A clear understanding of how clients’ bodies respond to this approach
This is essential because the course includes techniques that work structurally and deeply with fascial distortion, torsion, and tissue displacement. These require intelligent touch and responsive handling of the body.

This CPD course blends technique and theory in a supportive learning space. You’ll gain insight and confidence in working with:
- The fascial impact of pelvic/abdominal scars

- Adhesions, mesh, and complex surgical histories
- Emotional holding and breathing issues
- Specialist ScarWork techniques for pelvic and abdominal tissue
- Postural distortion, torsion, and fascial rebalancing
- Contraindications and intelligent practitioner response
You’ll leave with techniques you can apply immediately and a deeper understanding of how to work with this vital area of the body painlessly and effectively.
What You’ll Leave With
- A more nuanced understanding of the need for full body integration
- Specialist ScarWork techniques for pelvic work
- Confidence in handling post-surgical complexity
- A printed course manual
