Stop the world I want to get off!

This is your chance – will you take it?

When I was a child there was a catchphrase: “Stop the world I want to get off!” – with photographs of the globe spinning madly.  This was in fact the title of a 1960s West End and Broadway show that became a film….. not that I knew that at the time.

Looking back, we had no idea how peaceful our lives were.  No internet, no social media, fewer cars and planes, no CCTVs, and much less noise all made what was then the “rat race,” seem like halcyon days to those of us looking back in nostalgia.

Everything is so fast now – what happened to having time to just think, or potter? We don’t realise we are getting caught up in the mania until something happens in our lives, such as a bereavement or a milestone birthday; then we might decide we don’t want to live like this and use the chance to make some changes.  However, in the last few months, the world has, metaphorically, stopped. This is your perfect opportunity!

So, what are you going to do about it?

The pause button has been pressed, thanks to this pandemic, and amidst the tragedies and the pain, the loss and the anxiety, many people are thinking “maybe I could live my life differently”.  Having had the chance to sit and watch the clouds go by, to listen to the birds without the background noise, to spend time with the children, sharing quality experiences and forging stronger family ties. Not everyone wants to go back to their old lifestyle.

What changes will you make?  Take time out to list what you love about your life and what you want to change.  And don’t worry about how it will happen, start focusing on how your life will be when you make those changes and write down what you want to happen.  This is known as manifestation, or the power of positive thinking – it’s daydreaming with a cutting edge. . . .  Research has shown that writing down what you want is more likely to make it happen.

How can we help you?

Sometimes we get caught up in the past or in negative thought patterns, such as “I can’t . . . . “  or “How could that possibly happen for me . . . .?”  Well, you know what they say: “Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t . . . .you’re right.”

Energy Field Therapy is a subtle clearing of old patterns of behaviour and thoughts.  A bit like flushing a weed-filled pond with fresh water, the therapist facilitates a shift in the energy flow of the body and that is considered to have a cascade effect on the body and mind. This therapy aims to help clients make shifts in their thought patterns and leave the past behind them more easily.  Four x 1 hour sessions over four days are recommended and this may be repeated every two months or so.
